The office of Comptroller Balochistan (B-19) was established in 1970 which was up-graded and re-designated as Accountant-General Balochistan (B-20) in 1984. The post of the Accountant general Balochistan was further up-graded to B-21 on 22-08-2008.
Initially, it was entrusted with the dual function of maintenance of Audit and Accounts of Federal as well as the Provincial Government. AGPR, Sub Office Quetta was separated from the AG Office, in 1979; similarly, the audit function of the Office was separated in 1989. In 1988, the scheme of AG Sub-Offices was introduced in Sibi and Khuzdar districts.
